What 100 means for your next decision
DET 100 compares with IELTS 5.5. The next reportable score, 105, compares with IELTS 6.0. An institution can accept DET 100 while independently asking for a different IELTS band.
ASU publishes DET 100 for BS Nursing and 95 for general requirement programs. Specified higher-requirement Engineering programs need 105. At Michigan State, 100 belongs to the provisional range rather than the regular-admission threshold.

The broad 0–4 and 8.5–9 ranges are preserved as published; they are not single-band predictions. Duolingo’s August 2026 research update confirms that its newer subscore study did not change this overall table.

Choose practice around the requirement you need
If your program requires 105 or 110, review your individual subscores and recurring errors before repeating a full mock. A higher comparison band is useful only if it helps you meet the actual test requirement you will submit.
