Sending your result and checking dates
For the 2027/2028 Winter Session, UBC lists tests taken on or after January 1, 2025. Check its English-language document deadline and score-submission instructions for your intake before sending results.
Confirm the current instructions for your program and intake on the official UBC Vancouver admissions page.
How the DET score compares with IELTS
DET 125 compares with IELTS 6.5 in Duolingo’s overall concordance. UBC Vancouver sets its own test requirements, shown above; those requirements take precedence for your application.

Practice around your remaining requirement
Use a four-skill checklist alongside the 125 overall target. A 130 overall result with Writing below 120 still misses the published Writing minimum.
PrepEx scores are independent practice estimates, not official DET results. Meeting a test threshold does not guarantee admission.
