DET skill practice

DET Listening practice for both task families

Listening practice needs two different modes: exact sentence recovery and a linked conversation that ends with a written summary.

Listening practice

Listen and Type

Interactive Listening

Complete a conversation, respond to it, then write a short summary.

Review priorities

Look for evidence you can use in the next attempt

  • Exact words, endings, and spelling in dictation
  • Speaker goals, changes, decisions, and outcomes
  • Short notes that still leave time for the summary
Short practice loop

One task, one correction, one retry

  • Open one task guide and check its timer and response contract.
  • Complete a focused PrepEx attempt without pausing or changing the task rules.
  • Choose one correction from the evidence, then apply it on the next fresh item.
