Planning aid only. PrepEx estimates are not official Pearson scores, and Pearson does not calculate the overall score by averaging the four communicative skills.

    Method

    How the planner prioritises practice

The planner compares each skill estimate with your chosen target, ranks the positive gaps and allocates seven sessions toward the areas furthest from that target. It does not modify your estimates or predict test-day improvement.

For a stronger baseline, complete the PTE format diagnostic and use its four practice estimates here.

    Important limits

This is not an official PTE score calculator

Pearson reports an overall score and four communicative skill scores from 10 to 90, but the overall score is not the simple average of those four scores. Pearson does not publish the complete item calibration, equating and raw-to-scale algorithm.

Use it to choose practice, not predict an admission result

Always check current score requirements with the relevant institution or visa authority and treat every PrepEx score as a practice estimate.

Score-scale facts checked against Pearson's current PTE Academic scoring guidance on June 24, 2026.
