Section scores, test dates and policy scope
Check all four sections independently. The undergraduate requirement is distinct from graduate-school rules and other Purdue institutions. Meeting the English threshold does not guarantee admission.
Sending your result
Use results from a test taken within the past two years. Purdue’s ETS code is 1631. If self-reported scores support the application review, official reports are required when you accept an offer.
Confirm the current instructions and deadline on the official Purdue admissions page.
What to practice for this requirement
A 4.5 overall estimate with a 3.5 section still falls short of the section condition. Use the weaker section’s task feedback to choose focused practice before taking another full mock.
Choose a TOEFL practice task or review the task guides. Meeting a test threshold does not guarantee admission.
Compare policies without converting the requirement
The TOEFL score converter explains the general relationship between current bands and old overall scores. Use Purdue’s published policy above for your application.
If you are considering another accepted test, read the separate Purdue Duolingo English Test profile. The DET requirement is independently set, not calculated from TOEFL.
