A spelling variant isn't the same as a synonym. For a Listening gap-fill, use the word from the recording that fits the gap and the word limit.

Is IELTS Writing checked by AI on the computer test?

Does typing the answer mean a computer marks it too? I'm not clear how official marking is different from an AI Writing checker used for practice.

So the other way round: if the passage has 'city centre' as two words and the gap says ONE WORD ONLY, can I hyphenate it to 'city-centre' to fit? or is that still two words

How are hyphenated words counted in IELTS?

If a Reading gap says ONE WORD ONLY, does “check-in” count as one word or two?

Eleven replaces ten in that example. 'Ten is full' rules out ten, and 'make it eleven' gives the replacement. The last number alone would not prove the answer.

IELTS Listening maps: which way is left after a turn?

On a north-up map, if the person is facing east and the speaker says turn left, does that put them towards the top of the map? I want to check the direction without redrawing the whole thing.

Would the full question change this? Like if it says 'when does the lesson start', and the passage only says morning. that still feels not given to me

Two options that still look the same, I would pick one and move on rather than leave it blank. easier to change later if something else in the passage points to it
