Try a short answer about something familiar, with one reason and one example. Record it and notice where the message gets stuck. On the next attempt, fix that bit instead of replacing every ordinary word.

For a short session, take a minute of clear audio with a transcript. Listen, say the main point aloud, then check one bit you missed against the text and listen again.
