Compare four skills with a chosen target
The mapping is per skill
CELPIP levels 3–12 correspond to the same numbered CLB level on the provider’s chart. Level 2 has a CLB 1–2 reference; 0, 1 and NA do not provide a single assessed benchmark. Use the dropdown labels to preserve those cases.
Example: Listening 10, Reading 8, Writing 9 and Speaking 9 maps to CLB 10, 8, 9 and 9. A target of 9 in every skill still leaves Reading below target. The stronger Listening result does not cancel that gap.
This target comparison is a study aid
Choose the level you personally want in each ability. The tool will identify which assessed skills are below that selected target. It does not select an immigration program, calculate CRS points or determine eligibility.
For Express Entry, IRCC lists CELPIP-General as an accepted test and publishes requirements that depend on the program. Follow the current IRCC page for your application instead of treating a general study target as a legal requirement.
Do not enter raw Reading or Listening counts
A raw correct count out of 38 is not the CELPIP level shown on a score report. Use the Reading or Listening practice calculators for the approximate chart. Their overlapping bands cannot determine a unique assessed CLB level.
If you only have PrepEx practice estimates, treat the profile as a planning reference. The conversion does not turn those estimates into official test results.
Choose the next session from the weakest evidence
For a below-target productive skill, review a timed response for missing task requirements, vague support and unclear delivery or sentences. Make one specific revision and attempt a fresh task without copying the sample.
For a below-target objective skill, locate the misread evidence before practising more questions. Keep the other three skills active with shorter maintenance sessions. A single recent good attempt is encouraging, but repeated performance is better evidence for adjusting your plan.
