Terms of Service

By using PrepEx in any way, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. This agreement takes effect from your first use. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.

Continued use after any updates means you accept the revised Terms.

PrepEx is an AI-powered platform for TOEFL, IELTS, and PTE preparation. It includes writing and speaking practice with automated scoring, reading and listening assessments, personalized feedback, and full-length practice tests. Our AI tools are designed to help you build real English proficiency — not just test tricks.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information when registering and keep it current.
• Do not share your account or let others access the Service using your credentials.
• Report suspected unauthorized access immediately to hello@prepex.ai.

Use the Service responsibly. You may not:

• Disrupt or interfere with the Service, servers, or networks.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code.
• Copy, redistribute, or resell any Service content without written authorization.
• Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes third-party rights.
• Use bots or scripts to access the Service without permission.
• Circumvent security measures or access controls.
• Use the Service for anything other than personal educational purposes.

You retain ownership of what you submit — essays, spoken responses, and other materials ("User Content").

By submitting User Content, you grant PrepEx a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, and adapt it for:

• Operating the Service and generating your feedback and scores.
• Training and improving our AI models and scoring algorithms.
• Research and analysis using aggregated, anonymized data.

This license persists after you stop using the Service to the extent your content has already been incorporated into our AI systems. You represent that you have all necessary rights to submit the content you upload.

PrepEx uses AI to provide scores, feedback, and recommendations. You acknowledge that:

• AI scores are advisory and do not reflect official ETS, IELTS, or PTE scoring.
• Results are for guidance and practice, not definitive assessment.
• PrepEx does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI output for any purpose.
• AI systems may produce errors — interpret results accordingly.

Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the prices shown in the Service. By subscribing, you:

• Authorize charges to your payment method, including applicable taxes.
• Agree to automatic renewal each billing period until you cancel.
• Acknowledge that prices may change with reasonable notice.

Free tiers have usage limits as described in the Service.

Cancel any time through your account settings. On cancellation:

• Access to paid features continues until the end of your billing period.
• No refunds for partial periods, except as required by law.
• Refund requests are considered case by case in line with consumer protection laws.

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to data processing as described there. We use industry-standard encryption, access controls, and secure infrastructure to protect your data.

PrepEx's software, design, content, AI models, and trademarks are owned by PrepEx or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only.

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Supabase, Stripe, and AI vendors. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. PrepEx is not responsible for third-party content or actions.

You agree to defend and hold harmless PrepEx and its team from any claims, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any third-party rights.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, including for violations of these Terms. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections 5, 10, 12–14, and 18 survive termination.

Contact us first to resolve any dispute informally. If not resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue formal resolution under Section 18.

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of Hong Kong courts for any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service.

• Entire Agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the complete agreement between you and PrepEx.
• Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
• Waiver: Not enforcing a right once does not waive it.
• Assignment: You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them freely.
