For a made-up question asking the appointment time, suppose the speaker says, 'Tuesday at ten... sorry, ten is full. Make it eleven.' Does 'make it' show that eleven replaces ten here?

“Check-in” counts as one word, so it fits ONE WORD ONLY.

Yes, in that example left is north. Track the direction the person is facing; it does not stay the same as the left edge of the page.

For overviews the cover test is different. Cover sentence two and see if the main contrast still stands. If it does, sentence two is probably just the same trend in new words.

If the shared pattern is the point, grouping them can make it clearer: 'Both stayed close to 40%.' Separate sentences can help when you describe different trends; similar figures don't require a particular sentence count.

In Liz's actual passage, A includes the species count, where pangolins live and the threats they face. B develops their physical features, so 'Description' fits B; one sentence about scales in A doesn't decide its heading.

Keep the task question beside it too. A sentence might look unnecessary on its own but still answer part of the task. What changes when you cover it?

If someone hears 'root' but the transcript says 'roots', would you replay the whole phrase? And on fresh audio, how do you tell hearing the ending from guessing the plural?

Maybe: 'A commuter might leave their car at home if a frequent bus gets them to work on time.' Just keep it short or the paragraph starts becoming about bus services instead.

And NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS doesnt mean you need two. 'Students' can still be enough. Dont add 'the' just to fill the limit.

Small practice pair: First: 'Working from home benefits employees. It is good for them.' Revised: 'Working from home can save employees the time they would spend commuting. They could use that time to rest or be with their family.' Now it names a benefit and explains it, instead of just saying…
