How do you practise this properly? If the words in a Listening transcript are familiar but you can't catch them in the recording, should you keep replaying the same bit or read and listen together first?
Not sure how to use the transcript without becoming dependent on it. Once you've read it, the next replay can feel easy because you know what's coming.
Would writing down a few seconds of audio help? Or repeating after the speaker? Anyone have a simple routine for this, maybe 10 minutes instead of another full test?

Maybe try one short bit before opening the transcript. Write what you hear, even with gaps. Then compare and circle only the words you missed.
Listen again while reading those words, then close the text and replay it. The diffrence might show whether the words were unfamiliar or just sounded different together. A fresh clip after that would be a better check than replaying the same one forever.
