Listening

Hi Aydin, quick question about listening. If I miss an answer, should I make a quick guess and move on, or leave it blank until the end? I’m not sure how to focus on the next question while still thinking about the one I missed. Is there a way to practise this without doing a whole listening test every time? Would like to hear what other students do too.

I'd move on if guessing is taking my attention away from the recording. IELTS says the answers come in question order, so waiting for the missed one could mean missing the next one too. For a short practice exercise, maybe try one section and deliberately skip one question. The aim would be to pick up the next answer without pausing, then check the transcript afterwards. That would make the exercise about recovering rather than only counting mistakes.
