IELTS Speaking Part 2: what do you say when you run out of ideas?

I’m a bit confused about how to keep an answer going in Speaking Part 2. If you’ve answered all the points on the cue card but still have time left, what should you talk about next? Should you add another example, explain how you felt, or go into more detail about the same thing? I don’t really want to repeat myself just to fill the time. Could someone show a small example of how you would extend a short answer? Even a few sentences would help me understand it better. Also what other students do here. Do you plan a little story during the preparation time or just work through the points?
