With a word like record, the noun and verb have different stress. Is stressing the wrong part enough to make a familiar word harder to follow?

Would you practise it inside a sentence, instead of repeating the word on its own?

Start with the dictionary audio for each meaning, then try a short sentence with each one. That gives you a sound to compare your recording with.
