## Current HOELT facts (checked 20 July 2026)

- HOELT means Home Office English Language Test.
- The confirmed purpose is UK visa and immigration decision-making.
- The tender requires a 2-facet Speaking and Listening test and a 4-facet Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing test.
- The service is fully remote and digital by default. Bidders may propose exceptions where local legal or technical constraints prevent remote testing.
- The tender states CEFR coverage from A1 to C2.
- Best and Final Offers were scheduled for 20 July 2026.
- The award decision is targeted for 16 November 2026.
- The contract is planned to start on 1 December 2026. Public implementation has separately been indicated for late 2027 or early 2028.
- No official candidate price, task list, scoring scale, booking date, or university-acceptance policy has been published.
- The IELTS partnership withdrew from the procurement in March 2026 over remote-test security concerns.
