IELTS vocabulary special edition part 7 - Media
Updated
About this resource
Practise IELTS media vocabulary, including journalism, bias and censorship. Work through 23 entries and exercises, then discuss social media, reliable news, advertising and the influence of online creators in short Speaking and Writing tasks.
Which media words can I practise?
The word bank includes journalism, broadcast and censorship. Describe the activity as well as the issue. Journalism concerns reporting news, broadcasting sends programmes to an audience, and censorship restricts what can be published or shown.
How should I use this pack?
Start with the Before self-check, then study the word bank and complete the gap-fill, matching and word-formation tasks. Use the reading, speaking and writing activities to practise the words in context. Finish with the After self-check and compare what you can recall.
How can I use this vocabulary in IELTS?
Choose words that fit your meaning and check their collocations. Try using a few in your own paragraph or spoken answer, then revise any awkward phrasing. Learning advanced words alone does not determine an IELTS band score.
